Software Engineer, AI Expert

I believe great things can be achieved through the use of technology with AI. But AI is merely a tool. And behind every tool lies the people and the passion, those are what matter the most.

About Me

Hi and welcome! I'm a software engineer with over 4 years of experience in the industry. I was born in Louisville KY but throughout my life I've also lived in Minnesota, Georgia, Ohio, and finally Texas.

I studied Computer Science at The Ohio State University, where I developed a strong interest in distributed systems and data engineering—particularly in how large-scale systems can be designed to process and deliver meaningful insights.

While at school, I was able to intern with CloudFerro in Warsaw, working on infrastructure that supports secure satellite imagery for the European Space Agency. These systems enable scientists to analyze Earth at scale—such as monitoring crop health by evaluating land area and color variation from space. While there, I built automated testing frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Python, and contributed to a Flask backend by optimizing data retrieval queries. Working in an international environment also pushed me to adapt quickly, including collaborating across a language barrier in Polish.

During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked with The Ohio State University's Department of Biostatistics on a state initiative to help forecast PPE demand and hospital capacity. I helped design and maintain Python-based batch processes that transformed statistical models into weekly reports delivered to the Ohio Governor's office. This experience gave me a firsthand look at how data systems can directly inform high-stakes, real-world decisions.

I later interned at Veterans United Home Loans, where I focused on backend development across .NET and PHP systems. I worked on improving performance in the online mortgage application process and implemented monitoring solutions using Prometheus to enable faster detection and resolution of production issues.

Since 2022, I've been working at Publicis Sapient as a backend consultant for Goldman Sachs. In this role, I've built and supported backend services using Java Spring and AWS, contributing across the full development lifecycle—from feature development to production support, observability, and AI integrations including copilot and DevinAI. This experience has also given me insight into how large financial institutions design, build, and operate digital products at scale.

I've had the opportunity to grow as an engineer both before and during the rise of AI-assisted development tools. That perspective has shaped how I approach engineering today—I see AI not as a replacement, but as a powerful tool that, when used thoughtfully, can augment how we build and reason about systems.

My Projects

A selection of things I've built.

Apple Card

Goldman Sachs - Java Spring, AWS, MongoDB, DevinAI

Feb 2023 – Present

I built and maintained the backend system used to manage customers who miss payments or become delinquent on their Apple Card accounts. It supports things like payment reminders, hardship programs, delinquency tracking, collections workflows, and compliance with consumer lending regulations.
